A Comet Medal, as it appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2
Comet Medals are an special type of coin, that first and only appears in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They are octagonal coins with a comet imprinted on it. There is only one comet medal per galaxy, and upon collecting one allows comet stars to be accessed for the first level. Comet medals are used to unlock Prankster Comets.
