The Spin-Dig Galaxy is a galaxy found in the World 1 of Super Mario Galaxy 2. It is the introductory stage of using the Spin-Drill. Its planets are mainly made out of dirt that can be drilled through. The main enemies are digggas and goombas. Mario battles Digga-Leg in this galaxy. Mario can only get to this Galaxy if he has at least three Power Stars, including the first Power Star of the Yoshi Star Galaxy.

Planets[]

Starting Planet/Dirt Tower Planet 1[]

This planet is a small dirt ball that has three mountains, one of which Mario starts his missions upon though all three of them require him to use the Spin Drill to reach from elsewhere on the planet. The first mission places a Launch Star that leads to the Drill Zone Planet on planet's highest mountain. In the second mission, Cosmic Clones pester him. Diggas can be found here. This planet is not visited in the Daredevil Comet mission, but does appear on the Galaxy Icon.

Drill Zone Planet[]

This planet resembles a peanut with three towers, one of which is on the right-side-up north side of the planet, the other of which is on the upside-down south side of the planet, and the last which pierces through the planet's middle. A Comet Medal can be found to the side of one of the towers on the north side. This planet is only visited in Mario's first mission here.

Steel Ring Planet[]

This is the only planet that has downward gravity and is somewhere above the Drill Zone Planet. A Black Hole can be found in the planet's middle. To make his way to the next planet, Mario has to navigate around the Black Hole and get to the northwestern arm, assuming that the arm that his use of the Launch Star on the Drill Zone Planet sends him to is the southern one. A teleporter can be found on the northeastern arm for Mario to kill some Twirlips and get his hands on some 1-UP Mushrooms to increase his extra lives. This planet is only visited in the first mission.

Dirt Tower Planet 2[]

This planet resembles the Starting Planet, though with only one small tower, and when Mario arrives here, he lands on the ground. Mario has to use the Spin Drill to enter the planet's core, line up with the tower, and then drill through the surface at the correct spot to reach the top of the tower, where he can take a Launch Star to the planet that Digga-Leg makes his lair on. Mario only visits this planet in the first mission.

Digga-Leg's Planet[]

This is a small cylindrical planet where Mario and Digga-Leg face off in their duel. It is only visited in the first mission and the Daredevil Comet mission.

Square Planet[]

This is a large square-shaped planet with standard Gravity on the outside and downward gravity inside. Mario visits this planet in the second mission.

Missions[]

Digga Leg's Planet[]

This is the 1st mission of Spin-Dig Galaxy. You will learn how to use the drill in this mission and battle Digga-Leg at the end of the mission. The power star is revealed once Digga-Leg is defeated. Digga Leg is a mini version of Megaleg in Super Mario Galaxy 1

Silver Stars Down Deep[]

In this mission, you will have to drill underground in a purple bunker planet and a dirt circle to uncover silver stars, which form the Power Star.

Daredevil Comet: Digga Leg's Daredevil Run=[]

This is a daredevil run of the 1st mission. Mario has only on hit point and must start the mission on the planet upon which Digga-leg makes his lair.

Green Star Locations[]

  1. This Green Star is located above the edge of the planet with dirt towers in the first mission. You will have to perform back-flips to reach it.
  2. This one also appears in the first mission, and is located above some moving platforms on the circular planet. You will have to triple jump to reach it.
  3. This one can be found at the end of a dirt tunnel in the Purple Bunker Planet in the second mission. You will have to intentionally get hit by the Digga and back flip to reach it.
